Print DIRECTLY on Wood?
Переглядів 6 тис.2 роки тому
Crazy laser idea I thought of! So, my printer died...AGAIN! and I needed to print templates in order to make a few more guitar hangers for my collection. It just so happens that I recently got a laser and thought that this would be an awesome use case for a low cost laser engraver! Instead of printing out a paper template and sticking it onto wood with contact adhesive, I decided to engrave the...

If I may suggest, *Marius Hornberger* has an excellent video (actually _two_ 🙂) on doing a number of upgrades to his drill press. I'd link, but... YT deletes said links, even internal-to-YT ones. Search on: *"Marius Hornberger Inside a Drill Press"* He then followed it up with "World's Best Drill Press Upgrades" which adds still more. Marius has a GREAT channel, FWIW! Might give you some more ideas.

Skil makes a lot of good tools. They've shot for the budget market with the huge surge in POWERFUL battery operated tools.. but I've used 20-30 year old SKIL tools on jobsites as long as I've been a carpenter.. It's like saying "does Kleenex actually make good tissues??" People often still call circular saws "skil saws"

When I buff I apply a small amount with rag or towel that way it won't splatter all over the place. You may have to go back to some places after you finish. Can up area and look carefully for rough spots. It is better to take your time.

i just discovered that my CraftRight calipers are over half a millimeter out from reality, this is not even close to usable and has cost me days of headache trying to prototype some new fittings the last few weeks, Do I am telling you now that there is a rice point that is too cheap to go.

Would this work with 3cm thick wood that’s around 61 cm length? Seems but too long and thick to fit in a socket and revolve smoothly while cutting. What do you think? Any experience? Thanks so much!

usually with semi hollow bodies you make a template in wish you istall the pots and pickups and stuff and solder thatup completely with the right length wires and shielding , and a way to route the wires away from the soundholes (cause it looks messy) then you feed everything (did you put a groundwire on the bridge) intoo the rear pickup hole(including the plug socket without the mounting plate) and the front pickup i would start with feeding thatfrom one hole intoo the other) and pull the rest of the switch loose wire for the bridge ground and pots to where it needs to go the bridge ground wire gets stipped pretty fat and held in the hole while you hammer in the nut for mounting the bridge the finish looks realy nice , maibe next time hand paint the tuner holes before sanding so there covered , wetanding is still the way tyo go in my eyes though polishing compounds and a big buffer on a pillar might work too images.prismic.io/kippersrijssen-test/NmUxODNlOWUtYjAyMC00NzdmLWJmMDEtZjQ0ZDIyNzkxYzBi_7fde5282-8340-4a6f-bf2c-4b9e2b141916_psm14_82.jpg?auto=compress,format&rect=0,0,1000,1000&w=1000&h=1000 that allows you to get a good grip on the body and possibly push youre hip intoo it
